Budapest has a more and more important place on the world’s gastro map. So maybe it is not so surprising that the prestigious gala dinner called ‘European Tour of the Michelin Guide for 2018’ will be held in the Hungarian capital (which has four Michelin-star restaurants).

This gala is quite important because European Michelin-star chefs will participate and this is where a fresh list of the best European restaurants will be presented. The gala will be held on 26 March, thanks to a cooperation between Hungarian Tourism Agency and Michelin.

New European Michelin Guide is to be presented, too

In addition to the gala and award ceremony for the new Michelin-star restaurants, the latest European Michelin Guide will also be officially presented in Budapest.

Michelin stars, the highest honours of the culinary world, are awarded by a full-time staff of anonymous restaurant reviewers. They visit restaurants, write about their experience and come together to discuss and decide on which restaurants will get Michelin stars.
