Budapest provides cheapest cultural city break in Europe
Posted by Mia Balogh · Oct 11, 2019

If you can’t have enough of cultural programs but you travel on a budget, well, then Budapest is absolutely your city.

Budapest is not only a beautiful city, but it is also a perfect destination for those who love cultural programs. And some more good news: these programs are even available for the most of those who have to watch how much they spend on a city break.

According to The Telegraph, the recently released annual Cost of Culture Report from Post Office Travel Money, Budapest has the best value cultural offerings out of 18 cities examined.

‘The 2019 report looked at the cost of six different activities in each city, including opera, theatre, museums, galleries and heritage sites. Budapest was found to be the cheapest for the second year running, coming in at £70 (86 USD) total’ – they write.

So Budapest came in as cheapest again, while a city break with the same kind of programs would be more expensive in Prague (125 USD), Warsaw (129 USD), Milan (463 USD) or Madrid (528 USD).

Any more questions why it’s worth planning you next trip to Budapest already? ;)
