Szabihíd – occupying the closed Liberty Bridge
Posted by Budnews · Aug 10, 2017

It’s nothing illegal! In fact, super programs are waiting!

There is a cool event series in Budapest: Szabihíd. It’s born from a road closure last year and in 2017 pedestrians filled the closed Liberty Bridge several times. The last occasion for this season will be this weekend, so if you here because of Sziget festival anyway, take a look at this event.

There will be several programs: on Saturday you can get acquainted with the circus world: Juggling, hula-hoop and acrobatics presentations await, and watch the exciting show in the evening.

Record attempt will also take place. There is a Hungarian child song „ Bújj bújj zöld ág” which is literally untranslatable, but has a play: couples have to hold hand and pass under the hands of others. Will be fun!

On sunday:

Taiko Hungary @ Szabihíd: The drummers of TAIKO Hungary will perform an impromptu flashmob show on Liberty Bridge at Pest Bridgehead.

Swing on the Bridge @RattyJazzBand

Say farewell to the closed Liberty Bridge with an awesome swing gig! The atmosphere will be ensured by Pepita Tánc és Rekreációs Egyesület, who will introduce you to the dances and style of the golden age of jazz.
