Huge installations infest the Danube

Weird things will appear on the river soon.

There are many statues and installations in the city. Some of them has long history, some of them are pretty new, but people of Budapest became attached to them in no time. I really like for example the Little Princess on the Danube shore and the Colombo statue on Falk Miksa street. These are classic metal sculptures, but modernity is also present is the city. So, won’t be surprised when huge red things will appear on the Danube!

The red things on the cover photo are statues: Zsófia Farkas’ creations entitled „Memories of great fish”. They will be installed on the river on 29 June before Budapest University of Technology and Economics. The Municipality of Budapest has issued an application for creating a new public statue last year, and the jury chose Zsófia’s work form 20 applicants. The statue will only be temporarily exhibited, so if you come to Hungary before 29 November, don’t miss the opportunity to see.
