Hungarian people usually like Lake Balaton: in Summer, they find some refreshment at ‘The Hungarian Sea’, as we call it, and the best swimmers may participate at the Balaton Cross Swim, too. But what can we do at the biggest lake of Hungary in winter?

Well, nowadays, there are more programs than there used to be, and some of these are based on quite creative ideas. Just like the first Balaton Cross-skating, which was organized on the last weekend of January between Badacsony and Fonyód. Participants started at 11 am from the port of Badacsony and arrived to Fonyód, after accomplishing the 5.2 km-distance on the ice of the Balaton.
