Millenáris Park is expanding – here comes the plan
Posted by Budnews · Aug 13, 2016

You may know this characteristic green and cultural place of the Buda side, and if so, we’re sure you love it. Soon you can enjoy an even bigger facility.

In the spring, when the abandoned building of a former ministry was demolished beside the park, there has been whispers that some super things are in preparation. Now the visual design of this new area is ready: a new park section and two coffee shops will be there, and a garage below it. As you can see on the plans of this new, nearly 2.5 acres park, the new style fits the existing elements.

The renewal of Millenáris is also a part of this plan (that’s why we’re talking about 2.5 acres). The investment uses environmentally friendly solutions and renewable energy: the already green public space will have 300 trees, benches and a big water surface. The vegetation of the park is planned to be watered with rain water. They replace the surfacing where necessary, and also transform the area from a horticultural point of view. The two-level underground garage is planned to serve the parking needs of the participants of Millenáris events, but it will be open to everybody. The new Millenáris Park is expected to open in the second half of 2017.
