As the next president of the United States of America, Joe Biden is now in the centre of media attention so the papers try to dig out as many interesting stories of him as possible. It is the same in Hungary: we just read that Mr. Biden and his wife Jill spent their honeymoon in Hungary back in 1977.

Well, it was a quite unusual honeymoon for an American politician at the time, as it was on the other side of the Iron curtain. ‘According to a report in Népszabadság at the time, the Bidens spent a couple of days in Budapest. The Bidens also visited lake Balaton, and they were accompanied also by Joe Biden’s two sons from his previous marriage, Beau and Hunter.

Well, we hope that despite the relations between the Democrats and Hungary, the next American president still has nice memories about our country, lake Balaton and Budapest.
