Posted by Mia Balogh · Mar 4, 2020

This is the first time when we can see more than just static images and descriptions about the new National Gallery.

Do you remember where the former Petőfi Hall was standing in the City Park (Városliget)? You can’t see it anymore but we can show you the visualizations of the modern National Gallery which will be built where Petőfi Hall used to stand.

The following video shows the history of the demolished building and the future plans.

This is the first time when we can see more than just static images and descriptions, furthermore, we can enter and also take a glimpse to the inside of the building, well, at least virtually.

According to the plans, the new National Gallery, designed by the Japanese SANAA and Hungarian partner company Bánáti + Hartvig Architects will be ready in the following years but we still don’t know exactly when. Earlier we read that everything included in Liget Budapest project must be ready and open for the public until 2023.
