Banksy exhibition to open in Budapest

It will be the first time for the Hungarian audience to see his artworks in Budapest.

Mysterious British street artist, Banksy has never had an exhibition in Budapest until now. Tesla Loft will serve as the Hungarian location for his travelling exhibition, the Art of Banksy, which is going to open on 1 February. The exhibition is organized by Godot Contemporary Art Institute – 24.hu writes.

Almost 70 of Banksy’s creations will be exhibited, and in our opinion, one thing is for sure: it won’t be a boring program. Why? Because the mysterious artist creates not only masterpieces but besides, he is also an interesting figure himself – for example, he hides his identity and is quite good at scandals.

He snuck in fake pieces of art into museums (yes, it really happened!) and in 2018, one of his paintings started to self-destruct, right after being sold for a record price. But thanks to stratagem of contemporary art, these details make his work even more interesting.
