A compilation made by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a sister company of The Economist ranks 140 cities on 30 factors bunched into five categories—stability, health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

According to this compilation, Vienna is the most liveable city of the world, with quite impressive score: 99.1 percent out of 100, right ahead of Melbourne, Sydney and Osaka. The top 10 is dominated by Australian, Canadian and Japanese cities. Apart from Vienna, only one European city managed to fit in there, Copenhagen.

Budapest was ranked as the most liveable Eastern European city, by overtaking tourist hotspots like Prague or Moscow. According to The Economist, these cities are far less liveable than Budapest – We Love Budapest writes.
