Modern multifunctional mall to be built for 2020

After more than ten years of planning, the dreams about Mundo project can finally become reality.

According to Építészfórum.hu, a new modern mall is going to be built in Budapest’s 14th district, Zugló. The so-called ‘Mundo project’ has been planned since 2007, more than 10 years already, but now the construction works of the shopping centre can begin. We said shopping centre, but Mundo will include a huge office building and a park.

The property development project aims to build a very modern, multi-functional mall which will combine the retail, entertainment and service industries. It will be built on a 35,000 m2 land.

If there won’t be any change in the plans, Mundo will include 170 shops plus a huge P + R car park. The building will be energy-efficient, with a small ecological footprint, ‘dressed in green to reflect Zugló’s garden suburb-nature’.

The centre will be built near Bosnyák Square, where one of the most well-known markets of Budapest is located and also a beautiful church, St. Anthony Church, but you can find a newly constructed City Hall and the Culture and Sports Centre in this area, too.
