The most special sauna of the city reopens: you can enjoy it in a special place this year

You can heat up in a really special mobile sauna on the Danube shore.

I don’t know about you guys, but I really love saunas especially in this cold weather. They have everything we might wish for: bring back the good, hot weather. If you have a good memory¸ you probably remember this unique sauna made by The City and River Association (Valyo): they turned a small bus into a sauna, and this outdoor unit operates in different points of the city every year. Valyo purchased a scrapped airport bus and after a thorough renovation / remodeling operates it as a mobile sauna for years. In the last couple of years, it had parked on the Citadel, at Gellért Square, Chain Bridge and Margit Bridge, at Batthyány Square, and this year it's on the Danube shore again at Valyok Kikötő.

If you are a fan of good sauna, just like we are, then Valyo mobile sauna is a must-try for you. You can have fun with five of your best mates or a plan romantic program in Valyo mobile sauna. 90 minutes cost 15 000 HUF which goes to Valyo association as a donation to help their work. This means the price of a cinema ticket in case of a six-person company, but of course if it’s just the two of us, it’s a bit more expensive per person. For this price they will grant cold shower after the sauna, soda, changing room and of course, the beautiful view, so it knows even more than a “normal” sauna.

How to find the mobile sauna? Valyo kikötő is situated in the southern region of Pest. It’s at the bridgehead of Rákóczi híd on the Pest side, near the National Theater and Palace of Arts. It’s easily accessible with public transport: tram 1 and 2 directly goes to this area. If you’re in the city center, chose tram 2, from the outer parts, tram 1 is the good solution. The sauna opens in January, but you can book your experience here right now.
