These Hungarian coffee houses made it to Lonely Planet’s ‘Global Coffee Tour’ guide.

Visiting Hungary and Budapest offers you far more than beautiful sights, goulash, pálinka and some good wine or beer in a ruin pub – a visit in one of our coffee houses and modern specialty cafés is also a must-try. Why? Because these places have their own unique atmosphere and of course really good coffee what can make even the most cloudy day into something better. ;) And did you know that travel website Lonely Planet mentions three Budapest cafés among the best in the world?

Well, that’s true. The website’s guide called ‘Global Coffee Tour’, published recently, lists 150 cafés, roasteries and espresso bars from 37 countries. In this guide, we can proudly spot Madal, Kontakt and My Little Melbourne – 3 cafés from Budapest.

Lonely Planet likes Kontakt’s Nitro powered coffee on tap, Madal’s several locations, and the Australian inspiration for My Little Melbourne as well as its Brew Bar. They also help readers learn how to order a coffee in the local language and recommend some attractions nearby, for ex. Rumbach synagogue and the Pinball Museum in Budapest.
