Simon's Burger starts international expansion: opening a restaurant in New York
Posted by Judy · Mar 2, 2025

The Hungarian owners of Simon's Burger are targeting the international market: in March 2025, they will open their first U.S. restaurant in the heart of New York, in Union Square.

The restaurant, which represents the Smashy sub-brand, is the dream of siblings Máté Tóth and Simon, who are financing the multi-million investment from their own sources, without involving investors. The opening is largely thanks to the company's rapid growth in Hungary. The company is continuing its expansion both abroad and domestically, with additional restaurants planned to open in Hungary this year.

Simon's Burger's international expansion is an important milestone for the Hungarian restaurant chain.
