International and Hungarian stars, songs we’ve never heard before and spectacular effects on stage – the 14th VIVA Comet Gala was really the hottest night of this summer.

Heatwave in the city, hot moments and spectacular show on stage. That’s how we could describe the 11th of June, when the 14th VIVA Comet Gala was held. The annual ceremony of the market-leader Hungarian music television channel, VIVA TV was organised in the Papp László Sportaréna, to renumerate the most popular Hungarian stars. The winners of each category were chosen by the audience, by online voting.

Several Hungarian artists performed on the gala, for example the well-known DJ, Viki Meczker, who played music from a special cage above the crowd.

The popular singer, András Kállay-Saunders came to stage, as well, who was 5th in this year’s Eurovision song contest’s finale, but the International superstars were equally waited and applauded by the audience, for example Ola, or Inna, who brought some “latino feeling” to the party.

David Correy, one of the X-Factor US 2012 finalists, sang his new song The World Is Ours with a Hungarian female vocalist, Gabi Tóth. The song was written for the Football World Cup, starting on the 12th of June.

“There were singers chosen in several countries, who can sing this song with David. He will sing in English, and I will sing in Hungarian. In the video clip, made for this special occasion, Hungary’s and Budapest’s most beautiful places will be seen. This is a huge opportunity and a fantastic experience for me. I’m already waiting for the show and for the possibility to perform with David” – Gabi said before the VIVA Comet Gala.
