RingClock is born from the marriage of a ring and a watch. It is characterized by simple and clean design, unique clock aspect around the ring’s band, eco-friendly and playful design (the time is displayed when you rotate the ring), splash and rain resistant construction and cutting edge technology (wireless charging, ultrathin battery, energy-saving LEDs), which offers long service life and high energy efficiency.

The creators launched a kickstarter campaign on Indiegogo for their business: here starting businesses can present themselves and find their supporters. They soon surpassed the $287,500 target: got $388,278 in less than two months, between 21 August and 11 October 2013. But this actually isn’t surprising.

In addition to the above mentioned features designers used stainless steel to avoid oxidization and allergic reactions. The clock could be charging wireless: Qi is an interface standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium for inductive electrical power transfer over distances of up to 4 cm.

The designers have already set themselves a new goal: to allow the rotation kinetic energy to give the power to the LED lights meaning that the next version of Ring Clock can be fully environmentally friendly.
